Outgoing Calls: Dial a number, Place a Call, End A Call, Redial, and Send a call directly to the recipient's voicemail

 Dial a number

  • For on-campus calls, simply dial the four-digit extension (e.g., 3627).
  • For off-campus calls, dial 9 plus the ten-digit number. If the number is long-distance, you will be prompted for a departmental code after you dial the number.

Place a call

You can place a call in one of several ways:

  • Lift the handset and dial the phone number
  • Dial the phone number and then do one of the following:
    • Lift the handset
    • Press the line button for the line you wish to use
      Note: The Speaker button will light.
    • Press the Speaker button.
    • Press the Headset button.

Send a call directly to the recipient's voicemail

If you are dialing another Blake number and just want to leave a voicemail and not interrupt the recipient, dial * and the four digit extension. You will be sent directly to voicemail.

End a call

Depending on how you placed (or accepted) the call, do one of the following:

  • Hang up the handset.
  • Press the Speaker button.
  • Press the Headset button.
  • Press the EndCall softkey.

Redial

  • With dialtone, press the Redial Softkey.
  • Or, press the up or down navigation arrows while on-hook to select a number from your Placed Calls log, then press the Dial Softkey.
