In the new PowerPoint 2011 there is a way for you to switch from presenter's tools to mirror show. In the slideshow tab of the ribbon you can select either mirror show, which shows exactly what is on the computer screen through the projector, or presenters tools. The presenter tools interface give you added information on the computer screen only, such as notes, timer, and what your next slide looks like. If you have the screens switched, as to say the presenter tools is showing on the projector, you can go to the slide show menu at the top of your screen and select set up show. Within that menu you select the screen button to switch the screens back.
